SOLENVIA Sets New Dementia Care Standards

By Matt Ritter

SOLENVIA Caregivers is making dementia care expertise a core requirement for franchise ownership.

SOLENVIA Caregivers has announced a strategic shift in its franchise operations by integrating Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) training as a foundational requirement for all franchise owners. This initiative moves beyond optional education, establishing a new national benchmark for specialized senior home care services.

Elevating Franchise Standards

By embedding formal credentialing into its business model, SOLENVIA ensures that every franchise owner possesses the expertise to advocate for families and lead specialized care teams. The program is facilitated through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP).

The curriculum begins with an intensive eight-hour course covering behavioural understanding, communication strategies, and advocacy for those with cognitive decline. This move addresses a critical market gap where nearly 90 percent of the brand's clients are experiencing some form of cognitive change.

"By embedding Certified Dementia Practitioner training into our franchise system, we're giving owners the knowledge and confidence to better advocate for families, coach caregivers and build stronger relationships with physicians and care communities."

Tiered Training for Frontline Caregivers

The initiative extends beyond ownership to include a Memory Support Specialist program designed specifically for frontline caregivers. This tiered approach utilizes blended learning, combining online coursework with live instruction to ensure practical application of skills.

These tools allow caregivers to manage complex behaviors and communicate effectively during moments of memory loss. The goal is to provide a consistent care experience that reduces family crises and improves the quality of life for seniors.

"That gap between managed care and genuinely informed care is exactly what we're working to close. When a caregiver knows how to de-escalate a moment of confusion, families experience more confidence that their loved one is truly understood."

Strategic Industry Partnerships

To bolster the program's efficacy, SOLENVIA is collaborating with dementia care educator Pamela Atwood, founder of the Atwood Dementia Group. This partnership provides franchisees with ongoing expertise and clinical depth in the evolving field of memory care.

According to Atwood, quality training leads to higher job satisfaction and stabilization for caregivers. When staff feel equipped to handle emotional journeys and behavioral shifts, the entire care ecosystem becomes more resilient and effective.

Meeting Surging Market Demand

The expansion of this training initiative arrives as the Alzheimer’s Association reports that 10,000 Americans turn 65 every day. This demographic shift is expected to continue through 2050, driving an unprecedented need for knowledgeable home care leaders.

As SOLENVIA continues its national expansion, the integration of CDP certification positions the brand as a specialized leader in the home care category. This commitment to clinical excellence is likely to set a new standard for the franchise industry as it adapts to the growing complexities of the aging population.
